Como os comenté por facebook, este fin de semana ha tocado escapada (menudo mes llevo de maletas y viajes!). Erico cumplió 30 años y organicé un regaló un poco especial, nos fuimos de viaje a Segovia. Está muy cerquita de Madrid y es una ciudad maravillosa. Voy a dividir el viaje en dos post, éste para hablaros de la ciudad, y el de mañana para hablaros del sitio donde nos alojamos, La Hospederia Gemma (es un sitio tan especial y tengo tanto que enseñaros que merece otro post).
As I commented on facebook, this weekend we have been traveling. Erico turned 30 and I organized a gift a bit special, we took a trip to Segovia. Is very close to Madrid and is a wonderful city. I’ll split the trip into two post, this one to speak of the city, and tomorrow to speak of where we stayed, Hospederia Gemma (is a special place and I have so much to show you that deserves another post).
Como os decía, Segovia es un destino que está a una hora de Madrid y es una ciudad preciosa. El acueducto, la catedral, el Alcázar!! (nos dejó maravillados, con sus torres cual castillo de cuento!). Pasear por sus calles peatonales, llenas de encanto, de cultura e historia, el barrio judío.. Nosotros aprovechamos la mañana para visitar la ciudad dando un largo paseo, mapa en mano y sin prisa.. La gastronomía de Segovia es espectacular (para los amantes de la buena comida como nosotros, un paraíso!) y Segovia tiene una amplia oferta de restaurantes. Nosotros nos decantamos por “El desván”, un restaurante bastante normal pero con algo que lo hacía diferente: Las vistas. Las mesas al lado de un ventanal gigante permitían disfrutar de las vistas durante la comida.. Eso nos ganó!

As I said, Segovia is a destination that is an hour from Madrid and is a beautiful city. The aqueduct, the cathedral, the Alcazar! (we left wondering, towers seem a fairytale castle!). Strolling through the pedestrian streets full of charm, culture and history, the Jewish Quarter .. We took the morning to visit the city by a long walk, map in hand and slowly .. Segovia’s cuisine is spectacular (for lovers of good food as we do, a paradise!) And Segovia has a wide range of restaurants. We opted for «El Desvánt» restaurant quite normal but it did something different: The views. The table next to a giant window allowed to enjoy the views over lunch .. That we won!
